Name: Dante Rottwell
Age: 34
Title: Plagued, unknown,
"the Chaotic"
Ability: Unknown, but hints of evil/darkness
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality:
Dante is a striking individual when you first lay eyes upon him. Dark hair, pale skin and blue eyes. His piercing gaze can often come across uncannily eerie - it’s almost as if he can peer into your soul. While most people are visibly shaken from an encounter with him, Dante doesn't seem to even notice, or care to notice, their reaction.
His apathetic concern for the world around him however, has no bearing on his intellect. He is often found calculating, scribbling on parchment and taking very detailed notes in a worn, green leather-backed journal he keeps by his side always. Answers are what he seeks, always looking for more information to help him piece together his puzzle. When he gets frustrated or is at a loss with his musings, Dante normally turns to drink - specifically fire-whiskey, his poison of choice.
Dante stands tall and confident, yet his shoulders hunch forward (usually over a drink), as if the weight of the world were upon them. He wakes up alone, drinks alone and falls asleep alone, normally intoxicated to try stem off the nightmares. A darkness emanates from him, noticeable only when he is in a foul mood, or if another plagued has a keen sense for the affliction.
Despite this darkness, Dante has never done any wrong. In fact, if you had known him before this affliction, you would have fallen in love with his devilishly cheeky smile, crinkled warm eyes and kind heart. Inherently good, yet cursed with an evil magic. Tragically, a magic he bargained for.
The only knowledge Dante has of his power, other than its dark origin, is that he asked for it. And the price? Well, he doesn't know that either. Once this power had taken control of him, his memories were wiped clean, as is the norm with those who are afflicted.
So Dante took to wandering the lands, searching for answers, for the reason why he chose to have this darkness inside of him.
History:
Dante was Noble born into the Rottwell family. A family from a distant land on the outskirts of Indir, with little known about their past. Very few people today have even heard the name, and fewer knew their dealings. In times of old, the Rottwell family were known to be kind to their people. They treated all with respect and received loyalty in return.
The homestead the Rottwell family lorded over had no name. It lay past the great lake, alongside the Northern most part of the Dark Woods. The villagers were self sufficient, not trading with outsiders, choosing to sustain themselves upon their own lands.
Many wondered what the purpose of such a village was. There seemed to be no reason for it to exist. Until one day, it vanished. The buildings disappeared, the lands barren and the sole known survivor seemed to be that of a young man. A young man who had no memory of what had occurred.
Dante wandered the lands for a time after he regained consciousness. His fluency in languages seemed to be the only thing that stuck, past his memories. He had been wandering the lands for 6 years searching for answers, answers as to what may have happened and why he cannot remember. After 6 years of searching, he finally decided to come back to civilization, to the capital city of Byzantir.
